Siem Reap hotels

Siem Reap is located in the Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia. Its probably one of the most popular tourist destinations there is today. Siem Reap has slowly but steadily reinvented itself as the heart of new Cambodia, catering to tourists with more hotels and guesthouses than probably temples, top class dining and wining as well as extravagant spas.

Yet amid all the luxury, Siem Reap has retained its basic traditional charm thanks to its shady tree-lined boulevards, French shop-houses and the lazy river passing through. When you visit a place like Siem Reap, you have to obviously check out the Siem Reap hotels.

A great option to stay is the Prince D’Angkor Hotel & Spa. It’s a luxury hotel which is bound to out a smile on the face of even the most discerning guest. It’s the ideal getaway and sanctuary for tourist as well as corporate guests looking for friendly service and great hospitality. The hotel has a touch of traditional Cambodian hospitality and is an elegantly furnished luxurious haven. The location of the hotel is quite ideal; located in the heart of the city, the Prince D’Angkor Hotel & Spa is one of the Siem Reap hotels which is equidistant to almost every tourist attraction.

There are 222 rooms available within the hotel, all of which are decorated and furnished with the traditional Khmer Style Furnishings and a wooden floor. Rates begin at about USD 180 per night for a basic Superior room and goes up to USD 380 per night for the Prince Royal Suite. The rates are inclusive of morning breakfast. The Opal Spa & Health Club is a great place to simply relax and de-stress yourself. The Prince D’Angkor Hotel & Spa also has a salt water outdoor-swimming pool.

If you would like to experience some traditional Cambodian cooking or would like to stick to international cuisine, Prince D’Angkor offers you choices like the Emerald Grill Room and the Blue Diamond Restaurant.

For those guests looking for a more standard hotel, I suggest the Pavillon d’Orient Boutique. It is old Colonial style mansion, which gives the true feel of living in Cambodia. There are two mansions located in the lush green tropical gardens within the premises. The Pavillon d’Orient Boutique is a great choice when you are looking for semi-luxurious Siem Reap hotels.

It includes a spa, a salted water pool and a restaurant named Le Planteur which offers traditional Cambodian cuisine, European dishes and snacks. Rates vary from EUR 60 in the off season to EUR 110 per night during peak season. The rates include breakfast.

For those looking for budget accommodations, there are plenty of choices catering to your needs. The Angkor Pearl Hotel is an excellent choice for those looking for economy. It’s clean and hygienic. The staff are well-trained, polite and friendly. It is a great hotel, again located very centrally right in the heart of Siem Reap. The hotel is a mere 10 minute walk away from the center market. Here you can shop, dine and discover Cambodia to your heart’s content. This 60-room hotel has air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, car park, an outdoor pool, serves American-style breakfast and has a restaurant and bar. For all these services, you would expect high prices. However rates here vary from USD 20 per night to USD 70.

A warning:

There are plenty of commission scams in Siem Reap which involve some small hotels and guesthouses paying moto and taxi drivers to deliver guests. It’s best to book prior on the internet to avoid any such scams. However if you are comfortable with it, you could simply negotiate with your place of stay on arrival.
